Is It Time For A Visit?

Wondering when you should schedule your next appointment? Patient recall intervals can range from 3-6 months depending on the your oral health:

6 MONTHS
Many patients require a cleaning every 6 months. Removing plaque, tartar and bacteria from teeth and surrounding structures will ensure good oral health. X-rays are taken annually for adults and bi-annually for children. These x-rays help detect decay between the teeth. A periodontal chart is also completed annually for adult patients to find any changes in the gum tissue that support the teeth.

4 MONTHS
Adult patients who build tartar more easily may benefit from cleanings every 4 months. More frequent cleanings will help reduce the risk of decay and a change in the health of the gums/bone level.

3 MONTHS
For patients who have periodontal disease and have completed a “deep cleaning”; periodontal maintenance is recommended every 3 months. These visits allow us to remove the bacteria that contributes to the periodontal condition. Each appointment is an evaluation of your oral condition and a thorough cleaning. These visits are imperative to your oral health and prevent the progression of periodontal disease.
